What to Expect as a Second Shooter for Skipperdoodlefritz Photography
Thank you for your interest in working with Skipperdoodlefritz Photography! Here’s everything you need to know about what to expect as a second shooter at horse shows with me.
Second shooters typically earn between $200-$400 per day, depending on the number of entries at the show.
If you have personal rates you'd like to honor, please discuss them with me first so I can work things out accordingly.
I will provide you with a memory card to use for the day. You’ll shoot all of your photos on this card.
You will be assigned a designated spot to cover for the entire day.
At the end of the weekend, all images will be handed over to me.
If you have a dual-slot camera, you are welcome to double shoot on your own card, or I can provide you with your favorite shots for your portfolio.
Travel, gas, and lodging are covered for photographers working with me.
I try my best to provide food and water throughout the day. If I am unable to do so, I will reimburse any food and drink expenses incurred during the weekend.
Long days in the sun are common, so I highly recommend bringing:
A chair for sitting during downtime.
Plenty of water and snacks.
Something to do during slow periods.
I understand that mistakes happen and shots may be missed. Do not stress—it is my responsibility as the business owner to create a sellable product.
Your role is to provide additional photos to supplement my work, not to carry the bulk of the workload.
You are welcome to share the photos you take on social media! I encourage you to showcase your work.
If you’d like to join me at a horse show, feel free to reach out!
